07 Int. 9400i I noticed lately that when I turn the key to off to shut down it will sit in the off position for about 5 to 7 sec before the motor turns off why? And when I turn it to off the headlights blink? The crusie control works fine but cant high idle the truck? It has a Isx 435st in it and the dealer wants to charge me 300 dollars just to tell me if I can bump the hp up on it:biggrin_25524:, does anybody know if this motor can be turned up? Sorry for all the questions I keep forgetting to ask and these things are driving me crazy.:biggrin_2551:

With the engine not shutting down, usually it is the shutdown solenoid on the engine that is mechanically sticking a bit. There is also a rubber seal in the center of the disc of the little valve that starts to wear and split and will also some fuel through and keep the engine running until it starves. You would need to have that disc replaced. As for the headlights, I haven't seen that before, if your lights work normally the rest of the time, I wouldn't worry about it. Increasing the engine speed with the cruise switches, is this a new problem? You may have to see how the engine is programmed. As for the horse power we need your engine serial number and CPL number.

Since the cruise works on the highway, all the switches are working. I don't see anything in the circuits regarding the park brake switch. Make sure your clutch pedal is all the way to the top when you are parked. Sometimes they stick a bit and the release switch is still triggered even though you aren't pressing on it. I have to check your engine serial number next time I go to work, that won't be till Thursday.

Tried the clutch switch and it didn't seem like its sticking.

Heavyd is right on with the shutdown solenoid. As far as the cruise has it always done that? It could be that the pto speed parameters aren't set up for stationary variable.
