If you run legal with paper logs then going to E-logs will not effect your mileage nor your pay. If you are running illegal with paper logs then it obviously will. Most of the drivers I speak with that have it usually prefer it after a few months of using it. The days of the outlaw trucker are numbered, whether that's a good or bad thing really doesn't matter. Some form of E-logs will effect every trucker including O/Os in the next 10 years.
well they finally nailed me - forced into electronic logs

They've got it anyways, most all of these systems track your GPS location, at least this way you don't have a false log. -
yea they ping our trucks every few min anyway, they are very stricked on logs.

Falsifying logs does not squeeze any more money from your employer. Loads are generally paid "X" amount per mile or eventually figured into miles. This includes adding monies for extra p/u and stops, fuel surcharge, permits & tolls. The driver & it doesn't matter if it's O/O or company is stated upfront how many miles the trip is. Thus simple math will reveal what the load pays to the driver & the cut to the employer.
If anything falsifying logs puts MORE money into the pockets of your employer. As you're available to haul more trips.....keeping the overall $ per mile down for professional drivers as a whole.scottied67 and Wiseguywireless Thank this. -
That wasn't the Feds . You can still idle in plenty of states .Raiderfanatic and American-Trucker Thank this.

I can't see that happening . There are different manufacturers making EOBR's and no one brand can be put in on an assembly line .

I love this site, reminds me how good I have it. Truck that will run the speed limit in every state, loose leaf log book, no waiting to get unloaded, no waiting to get loaded, no dispatch, and no safety office.

Wanna make a bet! They tell them either install it. Or get out of the business. They don't care nothing about us. Only how much money they can take and make off us.brsims Thanks this.

The only reason E-Logs have been around so long is because Werner was required by the gooberment to start using them. Wienie was the 'pilot' program for E-Logs, and now the durned things are popping up everywhere!

So uh great..... When are we the proffesional drivers with intact CSA scores gonna get paid what we should. Oh yeah thats right never.... I am sorry but all of the safety stuff that this government wastes our taxpaying dollars on is hogwash. Maybe they should start enforcing the laws that are already in place rather than waste millions on dreaming up new laws? Why you ask? Because odds are their hand is in the til. So one of their friends or relatives owns the elog company somewhere. And what do you wanna wager that these politicians are getting a kickback from the profits that we are forced to obtain. That'll give ya something to think about won't it.
