They have other locations in TX, and they have a couple locations in southwest Louisiana which is where I'm working. I know they are hiring still at our locations. The Kennedy terminal is brand new, they staffed it up a few months ago.
I don't know what the percentage pay works out to be but I spoke with a Sunoco driver a couple months ago and he said he was averaging between $20-$23 an hour which is about what I'm averaging at Sentinel. Our pay system is somewhat similar, we get paid $.437/mile plus $2/hour night shift bonus $18.20/loading plus $15/unloading plus $5.25 for pre-trip inspection, fueling up and post trip inspection each plus $.298/minute for extra time over the 45 minutes we are allocated for loading and the 30 minutes we are allocated for unloading which is good because it takes time to work the tanks at the lease sights and sometimes there is a truck in your way when you have to unload. The extra time pay is great because it lets you take your time and not hurry and possibly make a mistake, and it covers you for things you have no control over like waiting in line to unload which is not really an issue but happens occasionally. So far altogether my paychecks have been averaging a hair over $24/hour. Living in Southwest Louisiana that is a really good living wage.pathfinder1361 Thanks this. -

If you have a CDL or can get one and have a fairly clean background, no murders or serious felonies, Halliburton and many others will TEACH you what they want you to do. Probably will have little to do with driving. Just getting your piece of equipment to and from job and then setting up and operating it. They want dependable folks who don't whine and ##### about every little thing and can work in all weather conditions. Do good and the sky is the limit. Don't and they will tell you to hit the bricks. Just good old fashioned hard work that can pay very well. You should have no problems at all. Good luck.Scott101 Thanks this.

Hi clone, I'm curious...
I'm following another thread on TTR from a guy who obtained a CDL in an untraditional way. He basically rented a truck and received minimal instruction needed to pass the test. Another driver said he would never get a driving job without formal training.
I keep hearing how easy the oilfield driving jobs are to get. Did the company you hired on with even ask how you got your license? -
Okay thanks for info any other names i should look into?

Scott trucking companies basically hire two kinds of drivers, experienced or educated. Driver mills mostly hire educated (trucking school graduates), quality companies mostly hire experienced (educated drivers who have stuck it out and earned their two years of experience somewhere somehow).
