Sent dispatch a message about a supposed preplan I have, that no one told me about til I was in drivers lineup. Turns out it was true. Pickup from the yard, drop twice on the 3rd, then once on the 4th. Then back into SPRINGMO next week for pm n other stuff. Hanging out with my bud til we leave out

Overnight deadhead from Pauls Valley up to Joplin Pillsbury. 1830 delivery tomorrow in Los Lunas. At the J in Albuquerque.

Not a chance. Anything longer than a 10 hour wait and I'd drop my trailer and go home to VaBeach.
Sazook seems to think that it's possible to bobtail on the ferry. (both of us are from the area) That option would be to cross the James on the Jamestown Ferry and I'd stay in Williamsburg with friends. I used to ride the ferry all the time in my "civillian" days to eat at the Surrey House Inn.
BTW our trailer presence is severely diminished there at Smithfield. Only one empty as far as I could tell. Back in the day there used to be at least a dozen. (I was a live load) And either CRE has moved in with a terminal/yard next door or they have always been there and got a new huge illuminated sign. I was in Suffolk a few weeks ago and we still had plenty of trailers at Smithfield's cold storage facility. -
I think I recall seeing them there a couple of years ago, but it was just a beat-up drop yard. I don't remember the sign, paved lot, etc.

Happy New Year to all!!!!! -
Sitting outside of Orlando for 24 hrs. A-seat went to visit his Dad since our load does not delivery till the 3rd in NJ. Tried to get rid of it early, but was told by FM that freight is slow so don't bother coming north. Had to DH 750 miles down here just to get this load
-
Same here... long deadhead, pickup tomorrow for Monday delivery. Be happy you have something. They did more of this a couple of years ago... every long weekend the shippers would let their folks go with extra (probably unpaid) days off - then we'd get to sit awhile too. Saw on another thread (different carrier) where they've got their guys shlepping containers a hundred miles or so; one of our smaller competetors are just having their drivers sit all weekend.
-
Yeah, we have been fighting to get loads since the 27th. Ran 3 short loads, 650 miles average, then this one. I just hate sitting
-
Sitting at pilot near warner Robbins GA. No load. FM offered $0.50 per mile for anyone wanting to go home.

At the T/A in Wildwood, FL till monday. blue pete w/flatbed-give me a shout if your in the area.
