I hate to break it to ya....but your wrong. You can hope and pray, and beleive all you want, your still gonna get F###ed if you go to allot of the companies out here. There is a reason only 2% of new drivers even make it a year, never mind a career out of trucking.....
Your at the right site, and you need to read and LEARN, NOT read and say, oh well i think all 74,000 of you are wrong and im just going to cross my fingers and work hard and those honest people that run XXXXXXX Transport are going to treat me right if i work real hard at it.....
DO NOT LEASE A FREAKIN TRUCK - I dont care how you look at it, who you talk too, its a RIP OFF.
I'm sure your going to ignore the advice and knowlage shared on this site anyway, but at least when you come back crying i can now say "i told you so"
Take it for what its worth....

I don't ignore advice. And yours has been noted. And it is apparently the general consensus. However that wont keep me from inquiring about it to get all the facts I can. I have received a lot of valuable information from this site and generally come to it when I need straight forward answers. Just because I research the survival rate of diving properly off the Golden Gate bridge doesn't mean I'm going to attempt it.

L/O ONLY BENEFIT FOR THE COMPANY NOT THE DRIVER.

Okay, perhaps tossing LP into the title was a bad idea. That is not the main purpose of this thread. If I could change the title I would.

You still might chk with colonial, the guy I was talking to was a co. driver he didnt own a truck. Most of the advice on here is pretty good but you CAN make a l/p work if you do work hard.Ive leased 4 trks in the last 4 yrs.usexpress had a 1 yr lease that i leased 3 trks thru and did ok made around 50k per yr.but I stayed out alot and worked at it.Its certainly not for every one.Im with act now and they have the best l/p Ive seen so far.Usx quit the 1yr lease and are only leasing 07 frtliners with cat engines. That cat engine is the worst engine ever made so thats why I left.Stay away from that lease. You start with a 5-600k mile century(base model)with an autoshift trans. The fuel milage will kill you to begin with, then youve got maint.issues on the cat and the auto shift that are going to happen to a trk thats probably had 25 drivers thru it in last 5yrs.Yes you get the truck after 2yrs with no buyout but what do you have?A trk that gets 5 maybe 6 mpg,has 900k miles that now needs a inframe(18k$) if it lasted that long.So you dont end up with a trk you can go make a living with period. If I had heard about act 3rys ago,I would have got with them aolt sooner, but thats life. You might just have to drive co. for one more yr and then your options really open up as long as you protect your cdl(no wrecks, tickets,or serious violations)good luck
