Is there a good way to run a real coax to the new antennae mount? I drive a 2011 Cascadia and have a Cobra 29 that has been peaked and tuned and i cant get my swr's to be where they are supposed to be. I have a single wilson 2000 mounted on the passenger antennae mount at this time. Any advice would be much appreciated.

hey foxman are u talking about the factory mount on passenger side?I believe that antenna is for the radio and not cb the ones that mount to the mirror bottom are not hard to ground if you go up in this thread you will see how i did it. i plan on figuring out how to get some pictures on here tomorrow so check back then ok.Also on point that I feel is very important is the use of good qualit coax(i used the K40 coax). The reason i say this is because i first tried that "bargin"crap and never had any luck but when i used 18 feet of K40 i had much better results

Not all coaxial cable is the same quality. Stick with a known name like Belden...

fgb3, i removed my instrument panel a while back and found a splitter box (not sure what its called) where the coaxs tie in and i traced the cb antenna coax to go to the passenger side factory mount. im considering running an 18' coax to the back of the sleeper to the bracket that holds the air lines up and using a single wilson 2000. im guessing i'll have to ground the bracket as well because i doubt that thing is even screwed to metal. the reason i haven't done it yet is because of my shop manager is wanting us to keep out trucks as stock as possible. so now im debating doing what i just mentioned or maybe go with a mirror bracket for the driver side like the one posted on here earlier. does anyone know how to easily run a coax to the mirror on a 2011 cascadia to make it look as neat and original as possible? i hate having wires dangling all over the place....drives me nuts.

I've gotten a good a SWR reading on the back of the sleeper. But it still doesn't get out to well because your signal is blocked by the cab and trailer. I also use the mirror mount from Walcott, but I just run the coax thru the door opening. I don't think you can hide it until you get it inside the truck. The mirror mount will work better if you can get a low swr. I intend to try some bonding of the mirror arm, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Im thinking I should get a decent swr reading on the back since I drive a midroof and normally pull a tanker or a short live floor trailer. Im wondering if 18' of coax will be long enough to go from the cb to underneath the truck and back up to the bracket. Also what would work best to ground the bracket? Any advice would be appreciated.

hey fox and mike i got these pictures but cant get them on here from my blackberry but ill get them to you asap. also i tried on my old truck between the truck and trailer and needed 27 feet to got to the front. Also with this mount from walcotts i used an 18 foot one and ran it in through the door up around bottom of the window up passenger side and back to radio. It actually only took 17 feet to do that so i just left some on passenger side and around bottom. I think you two will like my set up and results once you see it.Do either of you know how to get pictures on here?

With that truck/trailer configuration it may work out good for you.
27ft is what all our guys are using, and what I used when I was experimenting. Ran it down, then under then back up under the sleeper. To keep it all hidden is a little bit of a pain.foxman87 Thanks this. -
Im not sure how to upload pics on here but here's my email if you would like to send them. jloefox@yahoo.com thanks
