I checked this company out on the csa scores, they actually look pretty good. They have about 24 employess. Small outfits are always good i think.:biggrin_25514:

We actually have about 170 trucks. I think the 24 employee's refers to the inside employee's.

John I am glad you are feeling better. I just went and loaded the truck up to leave out tomorrow. I am glad I did because the batteries were dead. I jumped it off and set the apu to cycle on and off tonight.

    JohnBoy Thanks this.

It started cooling down today. There's no humidity and it feels real cool. Tomorrow night is suppose to get down to 39 degrees. 20 degrees is kind of cold for Georgia isn't it?

I bet your real anxious to start working again. Keep an eye on that knee. When I had my surgery a few years back it made me very aware when I was doing too much. I unload Wednesday and will reload the same day. I'll give you a holler Wednesday, maybe we'll cross paths this week.

The knee felt real good when I was climbing in and out of the truck. I took the time to check the truck over real good as well as cleaning the inside real good. I am ready to go. Jason told me to call him at 0900 in the morning.

Ok, here's something to ponder. This is just my take on all this. Remember like I always say, look at the big picture. I did some numbers crunching and have come to a realization that I am pretty sure that after all these years I look at this industry the right way.

Understand, this is for me, I'm real happy with it and it was a very good year in my household.

    Here goes......

From 1/1/2011 through 12/31/2011 I was dispatched on 94 loads that were picked up and delivered by me.

Those 94 loads amounted to 128,428 paid miles.

My average length of haul came out to 1366 miles.

Those loads came out to an average of 2732 paid miles per week.

I had a total of 2 weeks vacation, plus an extra week for Christmas.

I was home on average every 5 days.

My pay for the year has amounted to a little over 52K.

Am I getting rich? Nope, but if you add all the intangibles in, home time, never laying over, preplanned on all my loads, and a great work environment, this is a pretty good gig. Good enough that I am looking forward to the next year. I'm not going to give a year end report card, I do that in July on my anniversary, these numbers are the true meaning for why I enjoy working at Calex. I've had weeks that were a little light for miles, but I learned a long time ago that a 2-3 week period doesn't give anyone time to judge a company, a whole year does. Are there better companies out there? I'm sure there is, but this is my home and when I call something my home I stay and enjoy the ride.
