First of all I Hope everyone had a great holiday season!!
I've ran into a bit of a problem since getting my cdl last november. I have quit two driving jobs since then. The first Company CTL transportation. The second Covan World Wide moving Services. I quit CTL because of pay I was happy to get a chance driving local hauling tankers. That happiness quickly ended I was working 14 hour days 5 days a week and only bringing home 500.00 dollars a week before uncle same took his cut after that around 450.00 a week. I was told during the hiring process that ctl paid a % of each load and that they also paid for tank washouts and the spotting of trailers. None of this was true they paid a flat rate per load local guys didnt get paid for spotting trailers or going to the tank wash.. So I decided to part ways with them. All they put on my DAC was I am not rehireable with them.... I'd never hire back on with them!!!
My second job that I just recently quit was due to Drivers leaveing their weed and empty beer cans in slipseat trucks. A friend that i worked with got pulled over by dot for a seatbelt dot did a search of the truck and found a small amount of marijuana. Everyone that was in that truck that week got sent to take a drug test me included all but 1 passed he of course got fired. The other week i was walking into the office and lo and behold i kick a little baggy on the ground.... guess what it had weed in it!!!@$#% So i take into give to the gm of the agent he was not there so i turned it into the ops manager. He took it and put the baggy in a pack of ciggarettes... Nothing more was said by anyone wth? So after seeing that I made my mind up that i was not going to take the chance of getting caught up in whatever they have going on up there. Apperently its ok up there to smoke and drink in trucks. I myself use to smoke before i got my cdl's Once i got them i quit and have never looked back.
Sorry for the long explanations but I feel i need to fully explain the situations so everyoine has a clear understanding of why i quit both places. I know it's not good to bounce around at jobs and would rather not had to quit either job. I am wondering how bad all the crap is going to affect me going forward trying to get a job. Before the economy tanked i held a job for 8 years with no problems. I dont mind working hard at all but I do expect to be compensated fairly and I also feel i should not have to go into the cab of a truck and go over it with a fine tooth comb looking for drugs every morning after I do my pre trip.
So how much of an uphill battle do i face going on from here? I'm trying to get a job in the oilfields in North Dakota or Texas
Thanks for any advice ya'll can give me!

There is probably a place for you somewhere. Might not be the best company, but you keep your head down and put in work and you can probably bounce back from the rough start.

Yea im hoping so. All this crap drives me nuts though I have a twic card all the endorsements except for passenger a clean driving record clean criminal record and 0 accidents. Yet when i am honest about my past jobs i feel companies look at me like im some sort of criminal lol.
It's the most ridiculous thing ever I can half ##### understand that they dont wanna take the chance of me quiting and if I'm treated fairly and paid fairly i wont leave. But my name isnt pablo I just want a fair wage. 14 hour days for 5 days and only bringing home 450.00 dollars is just retarded it's less than minimum wage!!! Who in their right mind would work for that other than some illegal aliens.
And before anyone says it i know im going to have to take ##### for the first year or two and i dont mind that at all. I just refuse to get overly ##### on like i have been. I may be a "rookie" but i have self respect and I firmly believe in the whole treat others as you want to be treated thing.
Sorry for the rant just had to get all that off my mind I've had a very frustrating start to my trucking career
