i have a 625 mxs i backed the intake accuators all th way off it seems to run better smoother and dosent run as hot i thought about doing this a few years ago but let everybody talk me out of it , telling me that the computer would flash a code but it hasn't yet guy at the local delarship told me he had been experimenting with this and so far all is good , it has to help take some pressure off of the jake heads and rockershaft bolts nothing else ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,should be similar to welding EGR valve shut on cummins .................................................has anybody tried this hope this helps some of you ACERT drivers

It should throw a code for Actuator #1,2,3,4,5,6 not responding, but I think if all of them are backed all the way off the ECM doesn't have a reference point to the pressure spike from the intake rocker hitting the actuator. I'm curious to find out if it doesn't throw a code. Keep us updated :)

To start with i adjusted them loose .030 instead of .020 after fresh overhaul put 10,000 miles on it ran perfect no codes no problem it only opens intake valve .004 from what I understand anyway , couldnt tell about th power difference because it was in need of overhaul so bad it had rings broke on 2 cylinders (lots of blowby) cam down, But it runs right now it's hitting a mean lick:biggrin_25525: i haul 110,000 to 130,000 4.5mpg im gona run it with them backed all th way off and let ya know how it does

I've been backing them off on my customers engines for a while now. Have not had any problems with a CEL.

When you say "Backing them off" are you setting them @ a different lash or just backing them way out? Like if I set them @ .030 instead of .020? I'd like to do some testing myself.

yes it is easy to do remove air ducting on top of engine take valve covers off look at top of jake housings you will see the housing is marked int and ex loosten the lock nut on all 6 int with a 7/8 wrench then with a allen wrench turn ajuster stud counter clockwise till it stops then re tighten lock nut.
