I know one quit after a 300 mile run, told the trainer "trucking isnt for me". Another left training because his dog was sick, has not called back. For some it is just not a fit.

Thanks for the information in this thread, Playmaker. I just contacted FFE this afternoon and hope to hear from them tomorrow morning on a January 16th start date at their academy in Ft. Worth. I was thinking about C.R. England but then a poster mentioned FFE and I did some research on them.

    Keep us posted!

    THE PLAYMAKER Thanks this.

thanks, for all those drivers that only stand a short time must fork over some money, think about it, if 40 percent leave thats a pretty good income for the company when freight is cheap or slow

So as far as per diem this is how I understand it... when you're on your own you are paid .29/mile and per diem is included in that. So for a week long pay check they don't tax you on $364 of it as that's your per diem. However when you do your taxes at the end of the year the IRS will bang you for the per diem and you can use your receipts for food and such to offset the tax. Do I have it right? I guess the advantage is you get to offset the tax on the per diem by writing of your receipts. Just making sure I understand it as it seemed confusing at first.

I have never found anyone who has forked over any money to FFE. Just wondering, have you?

Hey tigger, tracking you, where are you headed? Also, Spat, would love to be in Miami right now. Is this a great job or what? We also have Playmaker covering the Pacific Northwest to the deep southwest.

Hey man, I am glad to hear you are there. As you are begining to see, you have some great people working with you. Listen and do what you are asked. The program is set up to cover all types of people. Everyone has desires and needs, and this class will work with anyone who will work with it. I look forward to hearing of your success. Wish the best for your fellow classmates, help where you can, but do not instruct. If students will show a desire, and reach out, these instructors will do everything in their power to help you reach your goals. Go for it and let us know how your doing.
