Volvo 770 01,Cummins Isx,low fuel pressure goin' downhill & idle (air in fuel lines)

My filter is newer. May be That's how isx engine is.

 

I just got a 379 with a 600 isx and have been fighting fuel issues since day one. First problem is alage in tank it came out of the south and had set for a few months. Has new high pressure pump, new lift pump and put on a pre-filter and new lines from tank to pump . Still having some idle and low end problems. Going to replace the shut off in morning and see if that fixes it.

 

NW can man .....ISX mmm how did it go after changing shut off...

 

Fixed it!! we still have a slight derate every now ( less then 5%)and then not quite sure why?? but very few times. We had done a no no by taking the shut off clear out and it made the engine derate at all time but how else do you learn stuff like that. I don't like to use the big shops because most times they don't know any more then I can figure out. We took it to a dealer to have the solenoid put in and when it came back it still was derated but the shop had some excuse as to why it was. I took it apart and come to find out their 100 dollar per hour shop rate could even afford someone who know how to put it in. He had put it in backward we swapped it and ran like a charm!!

 

Great work , makes me wonder there all quick to take your dollars tho do nothing for it, cummins down under have gone to the dingos kids working with little or no idea

 

I have a 06 volvo with an isx that keep coming up low fuel pressure when the fuel gets hot. I have changed all filters and fuel line from tank to filter and no luck. It has a 382 fliter on it and when i have the fuel problems i can rev the truck up and watch that drop to almost empty and ideas.

 

I'm currently having same issue. My mechanic thinks it is sucking air somewhere. Won't be repaired until next week sometime because I also have a bad camshaft and he can't get me in until next week.

 

did you fix the problem??

I have exact same symptoms.. maybe fuel shut-off valve :/

 

The shutoff fixed it for me but I ended up swapping the motor for a cat after it spun a bearing. If you need any parts I have sold some but still have a lot left from the isx 600
