In addition to bad/slow brokers.... I could be the load pay. If a company needs $1.00 per mile just to break even.... why book a load that pay 86 cents per mile? Brokers are in the business to get the frieght covered as CHEAPLY as possible. You'd be suprised how many times a load is booked at a decient rate and the broker finds another carrier that will do it cheaper and the your load is suddenly "cancelled".

I'll see your rant and raise you:

11PM Get Message that Load I was told to pick up at 7 am is ready now and my Appointment has been moved up 6 hours.(I am 4 hours away) and have 30 minutes left on 10 hour break. Wife calls says paycheck was 935 miles short. Truck is having Mechanical issues That I am told will be fixed my next home time. (Been out 2 month and am 5 weeks past promised home time.) Daughter crys in background because she wants to see her daddy. Message DM can't make new Pickup ask for origional back told that not possible. And a late for pickup will be place on my record(Dac). Race to pick up to discoved DM gave load to a diffrent driver, and my pick up is now at Noon. It is now 3:45 AM. New load goes away from home. I am told "I will try and get this repowered, I have load coming towards you that we can swap!" That load is somehow magicaly past me when I get loaded. Deliver this Load on time to discover it wascanceled and I will have to wait for a decision if they will take it or refuse it. Call DM he say's I sent you message! It appears 15 minutes later HMMM:biggrin_2556:. Finally get unloaded 7 hours later. Out of hours but told I can't sleep on street or in lot. Closes place i can take break 30 minutes away. I have 15 left. Ask if can take 1 hour extra to get a 8/2 split in and am told NO! Dm calls needs me to pick up 113 miles away in 3 hours. I am only asset in area. Tell him if he can get me permission to take break for1 hour i can make Pick up. He claims not his job. I say then not able to make it. He claims i need to start using my HOS more efficiantly. Wife calls again Check again short and Payroll claims they never got bills.on either load. I call payroll give the code from the faxed trippack. Oh here it is can't make out payment till next week though. Wife calls back power about to be turned off. and cubards are getting bare. Car was just repoed and if rent is not paid in 3 days we will be evicted. Call DM to explain I need to get home to get this fixed. He says's I am on way out door and call him tomorrow. He calls in sick next day! Sub DM knows nothing about it. Welcome to my world.:biggrin_25526:

I think I might give dispatching a try. But being the one how loaded my own trailer full of cars twice a week for a year I can only assume that its not easy to load multiple trucks. It sure is easy though to THINK we can do the job of another. That said mostly I believe they just don't give a ####. Why should they many drivers just keep putting up with and #####.
    Just poking........I bet its easy

Just one........if you are a landstar agent why are you posting on three load boards? Shouldn't you only be posting on one load board?

landstar agents post loads for drivers running under landstar's authority, and they also broker out loads to drivers with their own authority.. i use to see their loads on getloaded, dat, and truckstop.. only difference is the process i'd have to go through to book a load.

I just love these fictional stories of how everything that can go wrong, will.
    And most, impossibly so.

    :biggrin_2559:

How long did it take to make that up?
