Average between 65 and 70 hours a week. Everything over 40 is time-and-a-half. I should mention H&P has been in the oil field service business for many years and are all over the country. This is not a fly-by-night, get in and get out deal. They have been in 4 different locations in ND/Mt for a long time, and will be for a log time to come. They are a solid company with great benefits. Whoever comes will be tempted to make this a permanent deal, not just a short term fix.
I don't feel comfortable divulging info the company considers confidential, but the pay is good. Considering the difference in cost of living, (compared to farther up north) I believe it works out to be just as good as the money you hear about up there.
I'm 5' 8" and 165lbs and 54 years old and have no problems doing the work. Yes, I am sore. Even the muscles in my fingers are sore! But it is a good kind of sore. It is good, honest work.
I have been here since mid-November and there have only been about 5 or 6 days of cold and/or snow. I don't believe it will be a problem though.
Good Luck,
Keith

Ha! You're not far off. There is a bar and a small restaurant in Marmarth, a Post Office, and a tobacco/smoke shop. For supplies or anything else Baker, Mt is 18 miles to the west and Bowman, ND is 27 miles to the east. I have taken to coming to Bowman on my days off. It has more to offer. I am writing this from the Bowman library.
There are regular residents in Marmarth, but they live there for the peace and quite.Stamper1 and twentyninetimes Thank this. -
Yes, you are correct. I just reviewed my post and edited that to read 6 weeks. Chalk it up to a brain fart!

Why do some drivers , dont want to haul water? -
Thank you for the nice reply. I guess that would be a NO on a starbucks in town

I am getting my endorsements finished up then going to start getting serious. I like the way you did it. I have three companies (this one is one of them) I have an eye on. Scared to quit before i have another job but dunno how i can get my dispatcher to route me up there without lieing... -
That sort of schedule would work out good for someone who lived up there (like me).. my dog wouldnt have to stay alone for such long stretches. I bet its easier to find a place to rent too. And just when you start to get tired its time to stay home again. But for people like yourself who's home is far away, how do you go home with the time being so broken up?

I am currently Active Duty Army and planning on getting out, looking to move to Montana and work in the Bakken Oil Fields. Does anyone have a suggestions on companies to go to work for? I have 12years of OTR Experience. I would appreciate any information that you can give me.

I don't know.

Your guess is correct. No Starbucks, or any other chain, or franchises, for that mater. Bowman is a slice of America past. I hope the city council manages to keep it that way. No pizza delivery, no McD's or BK or any other. Small town life where most of the money stays in town... and people actually get to know each other. Locally owned hardware stores.
I should add that there is a nice coffee shop in town called Living Visions (I think). That is one of three places in Bowman that has a public wi-fi. The library has an excellent signal. The Bunkhouse in Marmarth also has internet access, but the feed is very small. I am able to skype my wife regularly, but the picture isn't smooth and calls will often drop. Great for email though. I am doing this while getting ready for work.
Good luck on your search.
