is there a minimum speed in your scenario?

on its face I would say no. But what do I know. I just learned how to steer them big things!!:biggrin_2554: :biggrin_255:
But seriously, the only way I could legally see delay of traffic is if your truck was below the minimum limit for that raod. Otherwise you present an adherence to the posted limit for trucks. At least this makes sense to me.

I suppose a PITA could screw with you , but wouldnt or shouldnt get the tix to stand.

Question, ARE there any split speed single lane/direction roads out there?

Yes, in Montana, California, Washington and Oregon (I think, it's been too long). Texas had split limits on Farm to Market roads, and on a few major two-lanes where the car speed limit is 75 (yes, 75 on a two-lane) but they're in the process of removing all of their split and nighttime speed limits, if they're not already done.

Bonus question-what's the only state east of the Mississippi to have a speed limit higher than 55 on a two-lane road?

    Yep!

Any time it goes down to a 2 lane road the speed limit drops to 55 for all vehicles.

    josh.c Thanks this.

They've removed them on most stretches of road. There are a few remote spots along I10 between the 10/20 split and Kerrville, TX where the Truck speed limit and night speed limit signs were still up the last time I came through there before Christmas.

As for the bonus question....is it Florida?

I kinda loved driving on 2 lane roads in Cali with 65 mph speed limits with the cruise set to 58 and seeing all those cars piling up needing to pass. I just say "Don't like it, go whine to CalTrans!"

If you are being passed on the right, in a lot of states you CAN be cited for obstructing traffic. Some states allow you to obstruct traffic IF you are maintaining at least the posted speed limit, but as a general rule if you are being passed on the right, you're in the wrong lane and you need to move into the right lane.

The DPS here in Texas has been known to stop people for being in the left lane and not passing.

IIRC, in Germany on the Autobahn, both the passer and passee can be cited in that instance, the car blocking the left lane for not keeping right and the car that passed on the right for an illegal pass. On the Autobahn outside of cities, passing on the right is illegal.
