Had a car do the speed up on me on I-10. I had the cruise set to 70 and was passing him and he sped up. Did this multiple times. Took it to 80 (speed limit on I-10) once. I eventually gave up trying to pass him and got behind him and matched his speed, every time he slowed, I slowed. Every time he sped up, I sped up. He eventually got the message and sped up to 80 and kept going.
Just some of the stupid things I see

I've had people do the same to me. If they speed up when I try to ease past them, I let them go and move back in behind them...and if I catch them again, I won't be "easing" past them.
I've noticed that even on my motorcycle, if I'm easing past someone, they will often times accelerate to "pace" me.
Back off a little, let 'em slow down, then blow their doors off.
I don't care if someone wants to drive slow...just do it behind me. -
Nevermind

This is something that scares me regardless of who it comes from. The road is not the place to be getting even with people. It's how people die.sammycat, Big Don, CondoCruiser and 3 others Thank this. -

Couldn't agree more. Happened here just a couple days ago. 2 vehicles and each one playing the game of pass, then slow down. Both drivers died. I'm not into road rage. I'll just slow down and hang back. I'll still get to my destination safely and maybe 2-3 minutes later than the other person. I don't play games behind the wheel. -
Too soon on the 'mellowed' verdict, it seems.

We'll dumb it down because people can't follow simple instructions.
Engaging with clueless people does not bring them to a sense of enlightenment. 98% of them time, when those exchanges happen, they go home and tell everyone at the dinner table, "this angry truck driver just blasted on his horn for no reason...."
Regardless, things can go horribly wrong in an exchange of tempers. And when it all shakes out years down the road, none of it will matter. Idiotic drivers will eventually pay the price for ignorant behavior one way or another. Hopefully, no one gets hurt or killed in the process.
I've seen truckers go at it, hell, I even did it myself back in the day when I was young, dumb and full of .....
Never amounted to anything and never accomplished anything.
You can't fix stupid.teddy_bear6506, halfburn, 25(2)+2 and 1 other person Thank this.
