Stopped trying to do that long ago. Not even worth worrying about.
-
I do much better now then when I started; still not as good as some.
Driving OTR dry van for Swift I started at .25 CPM @ 2000 mi/wk (2000/50mph=40hrs)= $500 + (4hrs/day-Load/unload). Estimated average misc weekly pay (Hazmat, etc) $40 week. Total average at Swift a week was $540.00 gross and worked 65-70 hours in 5-6 days = $7.50-8.00hr. Was home 2-4 days a month. LEARNED MORE THAN ANYPLACE ELSE - HOW DO I PUT AN HOURLY VALUE ON THAT?
Driving regional dry van for Schneider I earned .29 CPM @ 2300 mi/wk (2300/50mph=46hrs)=$667 + (3 hrs/day-load/unload). Estimated average misc weekly pay $75. My average here was around $750/wk and 60-65hrs/wk in 5 days = $12.25-12.75hr. Was home 7-8 days a month; weekends. LEARNED EVEN MORE.
Driving local flatbed for current company .31CPM @ 2000 mi/wk (2000/50mph=40) = $620 + stop pay ($6/stop x 30 stops/wk= $180/wk) + non-driving hourly pay ($10hr x 10hrs/wk=$100) + Bonuses ($50/wk paid quarterly) + 401k match ($100/wk). Total = $1050/wk and 50hrs/wk. Been here for a short period of time and have been told by 5+ year veteran driver that slow weeks will be $850'ish though average will be $1000 and 50hrs/wk = $20hr. Run M-F, home daily and weekends. I AM NOW LEARNING FLATBED, WHAT HOURLY AMOUNT CAN YOU PUT ON THAT? -
Running OTR and being out a week or two at a time, I only worry about what gets deposited on payday.
Spend more energy persuading the dispatcher to get me home on a regular basis, ie: whining. . .

That one is easy,,,$26.40.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,$39.60 overtime,
-
Thats a good deal!
I look at it as what i make per day.As long as i keep my average of 200 to 250 per day i am happy with that.
We do NO waiting on loads or to unload period. -
Yea pretty easy for me also......clock in...........clock out
-
19.25 while driving..... 7.50 while parked at customer.
Non Union....figure it any way you want.SHC Thanks this. -
$19.53 whether I'm picking up/delivering, unloading, in the hostler, or washing my truck. I still have $3 more to grow into as time moves forward too.
SHC Thanks this. -
Most guys who try to figure out what they make per hour will only get disapointed and sad. Most make less than $17hr and have to be gone everyday...... but it is what they have chosen to do.
Now for anything over $17hr and being home everyday in my opinion is a good job and the benifits should match......
what I make as an O/O.....seems like I am making a killing till I add in the cost of operations and maintance, fuel ect ect. But I avg about $90hr before costs and about $60hr after all everything is in. Only good thing is I get home every weekend and work when I want, where I want. But I have no benifits and pay for my own medical
