ALWAYS put at least 2 straps in there, most of the time palitized freight wont move (if you know how to drive) but if it should move the strap is there to back you up, it'll also keep sheet from falling on you when you open the door. Also like 123456 said you WILL get a unsecured load ticket if dot asks to see your load and you dont have any straps or load locks....

Some of you people are really full of it. I've only used load locks or straps maybe 5% of the time.
-
just because you do it doesnt make it right or legal.....
American Trucker -
unsecured load is some serious stuff.........
hope your luck continues -
If it's a unsealed trailer I always check the load and see where it's sitting....don't think I've ever had a load on pallets that wasn't shrink wrapped.
-
even wrapped it still needs straps or load locks....

And if you say you do use them every time I would have to call you a liar. -
ummm ya there is....Its called an UNSECURED LOAD! just because you have some thin cheap sheet metal on all sides of the load does not mean its secured!
And yea when i pulled a van I had at least 2 straps in there on every load.
