1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

She sang a song she wrote after her grandfather died. After she told the story behind it and sang it I broke down in tears. The power in her voice and recently losing my grandmother (who was my mom, dad, bestfriend, and grandmother all rolled into one) had me literally in tears.

The power in her voice, yes thats what i like too. Just plain love her stuff and like the writing too. She is real, a great example of what it means to just be yourself. I saw her in an interview with anderson cooper a couple years ago, she was in her underwear...lol. I could have sworn that anderson was attracted to her :yes2557:

  5. Honestly, I've been an O/O before, I even owned my own company, and honestly, I sold my truck and trailer in 97 and then went to work for Jesse, When I sold my truck, my headaches and stress went with it... I can go out and buy one if I want I suppose, but I actually had fun driving for Jesse, and that is what I love, I love being able to have fun while I'm working.

I'd rather be a company driver and bring my knowledge to the owner and be recognized for my ability. So I don't see it as a loss, I see it as a win.

I've seen what being the owner of a trucking company that has drivers that don't care about the company, or the equipment does to a person. My dad is a good man, but the years of stress and worry, about his investment and what it "might" do to his kids and family, was enough for me to NOT want to go back down that road again. I love my kids too much to put them through what I went through growing up.

I love trucking, every aspect of it. Every day (or night) I get up, get dressed, and sit in the seat behind the wheel, I still--to this day-- get an adrenaline rush.

Maybe one day you yourself will understand that through all the regulations, the inspections, the 4 - wheelers, the shippers and receivers, and the brokers... you will feel like you are doing something good. I am part of the network that is keeping America alive. I pull a reefer and I don't care how bad the economy is or will ever get, people still have to eat.

What I have is the knowledge passed down to me from 4 generations of truck drivers. That is PRICELESS.

FREEBRD, cttrucker and JDP Thank this.
  6. For some reason, (maybe I'm to set in my ways) I haven't even heard one song from Lady GaGa.

I just can't seem to get "into" her, like everyone has.

But I've seen Lindsey Lohan ...NEKKID, and ...whew!!! I'd give her 2 or 3 comcheks if she was a lot lizard....lol

Gosh i wish i had your attitude. It would make my life alot easier. I pull a refer too and i have grown to hate it. Mostly i hate working for nothing all the time and not getting paid very well (we are talking .28 cpm, he lied to me when he hired me, we had shook hands on .33) I am looking to get out of it and go haul water. Least i will get paid for my time. Seems like you had a sweet spot that worked well for you..
