Hello AmericanTrucker!
From your youtube vids it seems we are not to far off in age difference and in trucking. Thought i was the only one my age in trucking
. Awesome! Also seen your vids from youtube and gotta say they are far out! Hope you post some more on Youtube. Many will not agree with me but i sure love the Freightliner Century Class for a truck. Dont know why but im fond of them. It also seems you like trucking, true? Because like i said not many do. Some call me crazy for wanting to be an Owner Operator with my own authority but hey, i do love the road and have seen the ups and downs of trucking firsthand. But also gotta finish going to the university. It be unwise to drop out and start trucking when im already more than halfway done. Oh and quick question, have you been to Laredo TX or down to the rio grande valley??? Anyway, keep on trucking!
-Thechairman123American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Chairman, y'all two aren't the only young ones. Haha I feel left out now.
dachairman123 and American-Trucker Thank this. -
Nice Pete AT!! Pete sleepers are generally smaller/shorter, and unless you're lucky enough to get a platinum, they're pretty basic, with just cubby holes and the 2 closets.
The right side storage compartment on mine, is used for the inverter-heater/ac and batteries. It takes 5 batteries. I don't have an inverter that you can use to plug appliances into, just the HVAC.
As far as switches, I do have a forward light switch for the bunk overhead fluorescent light.
I hope you don't have the REGEN problems, that the '07 ACERT engines are known for. What our boss found out from CAT, we need to change the fuel filters at least every 10k miles. They were changing them with the oil changes, every 18-20k, and we would have about 3 trks a week in the shop due to REGEN problems. Once they started changing them every 10k, it slowed that down.
Also pay attention to the High-Exhaust warning that comes on. If it does and you're needing to drive into a building to load/unload, or under some low structure, you could start a fire. Boss told me that the temps at the top of the stacks run around 800-900 degs, especially when that warning light comes on.
You done a great job on shining it up. I would shine mine up, except next month they're getting rid of my truck, replacing it with a new KW T800. Not really looking forward to it, but I'll reserve my opinion until I've had a chance to drive it.
Good luck with skateboarding, and don't go para-sailing.. -
Regen didnt come out till 2008, this truck is a 2007 it only has EGR no other Emissions crap. Our 2008 and 2009 389's have the Regens and they are getting rid of them all now since they suck.

I didn't know when they came out. Lucky that you don't have to put up with it.

You know, I'm happy I don't have to fill my truck up with DEF. Pain in the ####. International make me happy, lazy +1. Cept the #### FIBERGLASS. Can't put my XM antenna anywhere cept my dash. Annoying as HELL.
