Verizon seems to be a popular choice for us Canadians.

Use the address from a truck stop. Then change to paperless billing.

pdizzle, there are a couple of Verizon stores that really cater to the Canadian truck driver. The two that I have used are located in the TA Truck Stop and the Petro Truck stop both are located in Effingham, Illinois. They will set you up with their office address and then you bill the charges to your Visa or M/C.
Usually any Verizon store located close to the Canadian border would have a better understanding of their programs>especially their corporate stores.

I found it easier and cheaper to just shut my phone off before I get the the US, and turn it on once back in Canada. I have an 800# for calling home, and the company provides a calling card for calling customers and brokers, so I tend to enjoy my driving more when south, and not always screwing around on my phone. But, that's just me. I know most people can't handle being disconnected like that.
