If you have winches on tracks you have to get the strap down to the winch. We had 2 trailers with pull up chains and one without.........I still hate that trailer.

this was at the port in Baltimore(not my load)-

I never took the straps off the winches so that side only needed fished when straps were replaced. On the other side the rubber was cut put about 6" across from each winch so the hook would just fall through. Pieces of foam could be pressed in the rail too keep water out of needed but it never was. I saw one guy close his conestoga and push each strap up between the tarp and the track. He did this loaded with lumber and would crawl from the back to the front fishing each strap this way. He looked like a coal miner when he was done. Had no idea you could push the strap through the rubber seal.

They are a great trailer if you are hauling the same thing all the time. Primarily steel. They just are not versatile enough. No oversize. No overheight.

Cool my father used to work for Warreen Transport loading John Deere tractors Pape was 1 of the ones he liked loading although some of the drivers did travel half a mile west to pape waterloo location without chaining the tractors.

You should probably tell that to this guy then.

OK...we will call that "innovative." Seems like a lot of risk to take with a $10K tarping system. For the little extra that OD load paid. I am pretty sure the DOT could write you up on that, as well.
The Challenger Thanks this.
