I would like to haul 100K. There are opportunities for me with an existing customer. I just don't have knowledge of heavy haul. Also, lacking a network for back hauls. I think we would quickly adapt to it, but it would be a challenge.

    Edited for error

You'll need 8 axle combinations, a steer axle, a tri and a quad work best. You can also use a tandem drive tractor and a tandem jeep axle jeep and a tri trailer. If you stay at or under the 20,000 lb per axle weight you'll typically be compliant in most jurisdictions. There's always freight coming off the docks so return loads shouldn't be impossible thought I wouldn't bet the farm on being loaded all the time.

I think I could do okay from IA to the East Coast. In theory, I could line up some reloads out of Baltimore back to the Midwest. I just have a lot to learn.

    #### don't know what happened I had a whole post saying this then you must have edited. Personally to get 8 I would use a four axle truck a tri trailer and a single steerable stinger just because it's easier making weight as you can move weight all over a trailer with a stinger.

I won't argue with you on that point but when you're running to the eastern side of the US you learn in a hurry that shorter truck are easier to maneuver and don't require pilot cars for length.

Yea I hear that I've just never liked pulling a four axle trailer. If I was seriously going to invest in a new trailer then I would buy a triple with a convertible stinger and carry the spreader on my neck when was going four in a row.

That already sounds like more fun than I would want to get into. Makes me think I should stick to what I do well, and leave all that money out there for you heavy haulers.

We haul a lot of loads from Eastern Iowa to Baltimore. We normally load to Western NY & PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, IA & MN. Do you haul in & out of the port?

your better off with a stinger axle instead of a quad axle. alot of states give you 80000 on a quad but wont give you the bridge over all for the weight unless you have the 4th axle setup with a 14ft 1in spread. i run 8 like this not as hard as you think. just got to be careful when backing up. lock the axle pivot pin dump air on stinger and back on up.
