Jack's Stack... 95th & Metcalf in Overland Park, KS... best bbq I've ever had. Bryants and Gates rank 2nd & 3rd in my opinion.
I've been to Bryants original location down on Brooklyn Ave in KCMO several times. That's an experience to remember... and I'm not talking about the food. Don't go after dark.

My Grand father used to take us to Arthur Bryants in the summer back in the early 60s. Was not a great neighborhood back then. Wonderful BBQ. Sure it is real tough after dark there now days.

I agree I was at the pilot for a restart, BBQ man was excellent, then walked over to that ##### tonk by the petro for some cold beer, I'm from Michigan we don't have BBQ like they do in the south.

I found a good one. It's called Texas Best Smokehouse. There is one in Longview, TX on I-20 with truck parking. There is another on I-35 in Alvarado, TX but no truck parking there.
I also found a place that if I remember right is called Dukes Travel Center on I-20 in Canton, TX that is identical to the Texas Best Smokehouses. I think its a related place and is good as well. Plenty of truck parking there.
They have the basic menu of meats as well as other things such as meatloaf, etc. They also have a large selection of sides and desserts. Just stay away from the breakfast items at the counter next to the BBQ (Longview). -
Brisket is dry, slices to thin, pulled pork is overcooked and mushey. The ribs are edible.

Yeah I grew up in that area and you definetly want to be gone by dark.
