Is it true? Does anyone know for sure that Werner has introduced a new rule that if a trainers truck has a APU the trainee must stay in the truck while the trainer goes for his home time and R&R.. Has any one out there been a victim of this supposed new rule?? If so please comment!! Thanks

You don't have to stay in the truck if you want to pay for a hotel room. The APU just makes it not idle and waste fuel. The APU will use fuel, but considerably less than the truck itself. For me, I just stay in the truck. I see no need in wasting money. Everything is already sky high out there for truckers. The APU allows the driver to have access to heat, A/C, and outlet plugs for your appliances. I like it but I can't wait to have my own truck. That truck gets very small when you get two people living in it lol!

Not sure that is a new rule. Has been happening for a couple years now. I do believe that it depends on where the truck is parked though as you have to access to restroom facilities.

APU or not i am not staying in a truck if i can afford a motel room it would be nice to have a real bed shower tv and bathroom. as i think it would be inhumane not to have a bathroom
