lets make a point clear here...i didnt loose my job a jbs, im still employed there..i have a 2012 kenworth t700 with a 53' carrier reefer sitting here at my house...so as for loosing my job, not so sure about that..im not very familiar with companies letting drivers keep there trucks when they dont work for them....
As i stated several times on here, jbs should of been more honest about it upfront prior to getting drivers out to colorado..i have taken my own actions into my own control..i have a few apps out there now..taking control over my destination.. as for jbs keeping up or adjusting, well all i can say is they are now adjusting...just look at it. any self respecting company that dont have issues with keeping drivers dont need to offer a 3K sign on bonus. and yes i do believe they are adjusting as they are pushing to get more and more students into the trucks. and why? its the money...why pay me .40/mile when they can pay you far less per mile..and congrats to all the new guys that even make it to the point with jbs to even get the .40 per mile.. .40 per mile is a joke in its self...other carriers are offering .52/mile. the company i applied to last friday is offering .48/mile..so yea soon jbs will have nothing but newbies, skinny little ### people driving there trucks for pennies per mile... So congrats to you and barely passing the test....so once again if it was truely about safety ALL DRIVERS WOULD BE TESTED..

i understand what your saying.. the money aspect was not on the trucking side but from the medical side... but i see your point..the only thing i can say is everyone says its better for safety and better for the driver health why isnt everyone tested? just like when you get your physical done they test for vision, blood pressure, hearing, reflexs..the sleep test should be done as well...as the professional doctors have stated there is no way of saying who has it or not...people with skinny ### necks and less then 35 bmi can have sleep apnea as well as someone with a neck bigger then 17" neck and a bmi of 35 or greater can have sleep apnea...so with that everyone should be tested

I try not to get to involved in what people are saying for or against any company but all big corp. are down sizing, when I retired just 4 m,onths to ago the company i was working for brought in4 part time people to replace one full time person makes you feel kind of good klnowing it is going to take 4 people to do what i was doing so jbs is no different, my hubby is happy there, miles could be better but then they could be worse, hes in his 40's and weighs about 275 but in good physcial health i know if he had onlty been given a 6 month medical card if he wanted to continue driving he would have found a way to take care of it within 6 months and not waited for anything, or anyone. But i think everyone has had enough of the whinning about this issue. so get it done for your own peace of mind and your family's . Happy job hunting and if you check into this health issue a lot of companies are going to get the fat man out of these trucks.
tankerman1974 and harleymanjax Thank this. -
i know waiting is my fault, but i also couldnt see taking time off when the miles were way down and im struggling to get miles back up where they should be which i think is at least 2500+ miles a week..there was several weeks id be lucky if i saw 2500 miles in 2 weeks. so yea i couldnt see taking a day off and loosing money that i couldnt afford to take off. i look at this as it just wasnt meant to be, me working for jbs..no big deal...let me ask you a question if you dont mind? how tall is your husband? gotta almost 7' tall with that weight and not of been hit with having to take this retarded sleep test?Last edited: Jan 11, 2012

I liked 3 Sisters... kinda small though.

Yeah, the first one is about two miles away from where I used to live, and close to the little tavern I loved to frequent. More of a business area there. 3 sisters is right next door to a much larger place too.

This is from the FMCSA Website in regards to sleep apnea, it seems there is a regulation on the Books.
391.41(b)(5)
A person is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle if that person:
Has no established medical history or clinical diagnosis of a respiratory dysfunction likely to interfere with the ability to control and drive a commercial motor vehicle safely.
Since a driver must be alert at all times, any change in his or her mental state is in direct conflict with highway safety. Even the slightest impairment in respiratory function under emergency conditions (when greater oxygen supply is necessary for performance) may be detrimental to safe driving.
There are many conditions that interfere with oxygen exchange and may result in incapacitation, including emphysema, chronic asthma, carcinoma, tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis and sleep apnea. If the medical examiner detects a respiratory dysfunction, that in any way is likely to interfere with the driver's ability to safely control and drive a commercial motor vehicle, the driver must be referred to a specialist for further evaluation and therapy.
Anticoagulation therapy for deep vein thrombosis and/or pulmonary thromboembolism is not unqualifying once optimum dose is achieved, provided lower extremity venous examinations remain normal and the treating physician gives a favorable recommendation.
