I have been in the Tioga Stanley area. Getting a truck repaired seemed to be next to impossible. I never needed anything but a couple guys I worked with did. Both of them ended up getting towed clear out of the area. Prior to getting towed the one guy tried two shops and waited what turned into several weeks. Both the shops basically charged him big money and then when they got tired of not being able to fix it just told him to come get it.
One main thing from my experience I can warn people wanting to go work up there is to have a solid plan if your truck goes down. Most of us are living in our sleepers and theres no where to get a hotel. So if your truck is in a shop where are you going to stay. Can get pretty rough.
One guys truck broke down end of November and he couldnt get a tow for almost 5 days. So at night we hooked jumper from one truck that did run so he could run a heater at night and still sleep in his truck. Can get pretty rough.rookietrucker and jvar4001 Thank this. -
