I'm looking for a mobile radio that acts as a standard CB and that can also be manually programmed with channel frequencies such as 154.365 or 156.310, and doesn't require a computer program and a laptop to achieve this. Does anyone make a radio that can do this?
I have multiple Motorola Maxtrac radios that I'm having to replace since the gov't has mandated that frequencies be changed to narrow band and my Maxtracs are not capable of narrow band.
Since I'm having to replace the radios, I would like to get the most bang for my buck, that's why I'm curious if anyone makes a radio that will do both standard CB and also frequencies like I use. This way I don't have to run multiple radios.
Does anyone make a ...

To get those frequency's, plus 11 Meter all in one radio, you would have to find someone that could custom build it for starters...It may or may not be possible, but like I said, if you can find someone that could build or re-tune a radio for those frequency's plus have 11 meter in it also, it wouldn't be legal, so if you have a Ham license it could be a good way to get it yanked....
...just saying. -
No , and you will probably never see one manufactured, just not a big enough market for it.
-
That's what I figured. I guess I'll just replace the maxtrac radios and not worry about the CB part.
Do any CB manufacturers make just a CB that will scan for channels like my maxtracs will? In other words program the CB to scan a few different channels and whenever there is activity on those channels it will stop on them. Kind of like a scanner works. -
I have about 10 VHF radios for sale within the frequencies you're ASKING for. From 32 channels up to 396 on the Tad M10 radios.

I might have to go with the same type of PM400 radios that the agency uses, but I would like to use something else because I don't really like them too much. If I go with a PM400, I can get the agency radio man to program them and I won't have to buy any software. The software that I currently have for the maxtracs is so old it has to be used on old computers that run on MSDOS.

There's a few of the "Export" 10 Meter radios that will scan channels to, but they would have to be converted to pick up CB Channels, and then your back to the whole "Legal" thing again...DIRTROAD Thanks this. -
That Uniden 880 looks pretty cool. Anyone know if they are any good?

Wow, I like the Cobra 29LX even better. It has SWR calibration on it that the Uniden doesn't.
BearFunkey Thanks this.
