hey fox did u get them?i dont know how much u can see but the bottom one is a coax that i cut and stripped back and soldered the ends then hooked between the lowest bolt and the frame(ground post from battery)also on the ouside of door is another coax piece to bolt from mount to the door.then there are 3 ground strAps between the cb mount to the inside of door.then hindge to one of the 4 10 mm bolts on inside of door.do this with a good 18 foot coax and u should be good.also use a swr meter thats seperate from the one on your radio to get a better reading.good luck with things let me know if u got questions

Thanks fgb3, I did receive the pics and it looks like a great setup. I guess I could use an old coax as my ground wires then?
-
yes they say to solder the center to the outside stuff so thats how i did it.Also dont use just one long wire. The longest one on mine is the bottom one which is about 25 inches and all others are 20 inches or less.

Sounds good. -
Hell I'm using stock mounts on mine and have swr of 1.5. Using Wilson 2000 antennas.

Just for clarification; you're running Wilson 2000s on a Cascadia? We're talking stock mounts on the sides of the sleeper right behind the doors? And you haven't knocked them off yet or bent your whip???
By the way, all the Cascadias I've dealt with aren't a dual set up. Left side is CB, right side is AM/FM. (not saying they don't set some of them up co-phased, but just because they came with two antennas doesn't mean they are both connected to the CB. I'm sure you already knew it that but I'll through it out there FWIW anyway.)
I've seen good SWR readings with the stock coax and antennas, but the coax goes thru so many "junction boxes or splitters" that you lose so much signal they won't talk much more than a mile if your lucky. -
Do you mean sideband?

he int taiking about CASCADIA unless he has a 3 foot whip or less. i still find that hard to believe unless hes getting that reading gight off the radio.Try an external swr meter and see what that says.By the way Mike o got your message but no email adress?resend it and ill get those pics to u

Ref. the email
(pm sent) I always check SWR with a SWR meter (radio shack meter) that I have checked the calibration against a couple of other meters to make sure it is accurate. And, I have found a few stock Cascadia's that have a great SWR, but they still won't talk or hear over about a mile.
Busasamurai Thanks this. -
This isnt a mirror mount option but I have found the best place for me anyway is to use the bar on the back of the cab to mount my antena. It gives you a good ground, get SWRs set right. Only 2 things I have had to do is use a good fiberglass antena and make sure the top of the antena is just over the top of the cab, not to high to hit on trees or anything. I have pulled both dry box and reefers with it there and get out and recieve exellent.. Also on a side not my satalite antena is also mounted back there and its not higher then the truck and gets great reception also.
