I might check out LTL at some point. I picture myself more as working for FedEx Freight or similar as a well-payed company man, rather than delving deeper into the OTR game as an owner operator.

Can you clarify that a little? By my understanding a contractor is sort of the opposite of an employee so I'm not following how you can be both at the same time.

I think Estes is in the process of buying, or at least interested, in the company I work for. We are already a "marketing partner" with them, and we are a very VERY fiscally attractive buy for them. It's what everyone is talking about. I could see myself driving one of those yellow trucks... why not? I like the big "E".

I invoice the company but drive their equipment.

Putting your time in--literally. Most of line driver's i work with have at least 10 years in and are working on average 14 hours a day.
