most companies dont like the idea of having the truck sitting for 10 days, not making any money,so i would say probably no,i dont think they let u take 10 days off,my opinion ♠

If you build in a 34 it essentially works out to the same, once you work it over a longer period then 8 days ...
Or as an example this week off loaded at 9 PM on my 7th day with 2 hours left for my 8th day. I made myself available for dispatch 25 hrs later, as I had 10.5 hours rolling off at midnight, with a note to the dispatcher that I could do a p/u earlier if needed and the trip had the time to wait for me to move it after midnight. -
if your home 3, days that 72 hrs so you have 2, restarts u can run 140 hrs

I dont think running legal will make a DM think of you as a slacker...If I were the company owner I would rather see my drivers running legal. The way I see it down time is needed..Most drivers would rather take it at home but that is not always an option, so in the best interest of the company it is taken while on the road. saying that a driver that takes a reset each week will be viewed as a slacker is about as absurd as saying if you take your days off you will be looked at as a slacker. If I am on the road and need a reset, I would think it is because I have been putting in all of my allowed hours...how is that slacking?

Plan all this ahead of time, work with them, it might not fall exactly on the day you plan, but im sure they will get you the time off. Work with them. Good Luck.

Who said anything about running illegal?? It's the why, yeah if you run out of hours then you may take a reset or wait for your recap to catch up.
But, if you feel a reset is a weekly entitlement, then don't expect the dispatchers to keep you running. Once they believe you would rather sit than run, then you'll sit. -
Please please tell me you are joking and don't really believe that
