1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Are there any OTR companies that pay other then by the mile or have guarantee pay? This pay for milage thing has got to change. My personal time is worth more to me then being paid by the mile.

I've seen a ad here on craigslist, Stating $900.min. no matter what your miles are.
They claim to cover the short weeks. Not sure how that works, Maybe they take $ from your good weeks to cover the bad ones?

It seems local pays more. Unless your with a reputable company or smaller fleet that compensates which are hard to find. If your staying OTR you can't beat LTL 5 days on the road .45-.53 a mile to start plus you sleep in a hotel. Can't beat that.

Alot of LTLs are higher than 53 cpm. We are at 63.5 and ABF is just behind us.

Alot more than I thought! I was basing it off of Saia when they were gonna hire but as a city driver and I applied for linehaul. I Didn't take it cause didn't seem like there was gonna be enough OT.

AMEN to that wolfy. I have just about reached my limit for working for nothing all the time. I have decided to get out of it and go haul water i am so sick of it. Altho there may be some interesting ideas on this thread to keep in mind, LTL sounds kinda good.
