What I found note-worthy is in that original ad, it says they are expanding florida operations and have regional and otr postions to offer. This is an example of reading what's in front of you, and how easy it can be to plant subliminal hopes in people's minds.. according to this ad, schneider is not offering an actual regional postion out of florida, unless you consider 48 states, out 3 weeks, a regional postion. That's the first red flag right there. IMO, they shouldn't say regional and florida in the same ad unless its a genuine offer or opportunity. Classic SALES TACTIC right there.
Plus, how cool is it going to be if the flyout/flyin deal is for real, and you're out 3 weeks in a truck without any gear that you can't take with you on the flight..??
Unless they fit each truck with a permanent tv, fridge, microwave, etc. Maybe they would do that, just for the florida drivers, but like that other driver said, it seems much easier to just not hire out of florida.
OR stop dropping the ball on picking up good florida accounts.. How many small to medium companies are thriving in the florida market (plenty), and schneider mega trucking has had all this time and resource and still can't do florida? Who knows. its all speculation anyway we don't know what schneider is really thinking, except they want lots of money

There are other companies that'll hire you out of florida, driver, without having to get on a frickin plane every month and jump through all the hoops. I don't see any good reason to bother, unless the pay is spectacular. Maybe I'm misguided here but it just don't make any sense to me

How'd the interview go?
-
Another soul who has never pulled a pumpkin load telling someone about Schneider. I love you guys! Medium to small companies pulling load out of Florida? Yep, and the get paid with oranges. The loads coming out pay CRAP which is why the large companies stay out as much as possible. That's a fact!
-
I agree, maybe Schneider itself isn't dropping the ball, some companies do have the choice whether to grow in Florida or not. The question sometimes, is it worth the effort to them. But I would imagine any big company would make some effort, and Schneider, from what I see, living and driving in Florida, has dedicated accounts here such as Sysco so I would hope they're making some money on it. You don't need to be a Schneider driver to see the obvious. I would probably drive for Schneider and I'm certainly glad you're happy there
what's the word, cardiac?

The word(s) for today is: Recruiter absent.
Actually, he was off today and forgot to reschedule everything. But I DID confirm through the recruiting office that I am going to be interviewed. So what's another day of waiting?? Might have a few more questions added to the laundry list I already have. -
It IS a fact. Most of the freight in Florida is agricultural or intermodal. And a lot of THAT stays in Florida. It's tough to get a load out of the great Sunshine State and make a DECENT profit.
You'll have no problem getting in, though... -
Breaking News!!!!!!! Cardiac was just spotted running thru the Orlando airport hollering "here comes charlie brown to the Great pumpkin Patch......" just as he was about to clear security a swift driver run him over with a baggage cart and was believe to have been heard saying "keep the shiny side up driver" the swift driver was arrested for having no panties on and illegal use of a goat, The Schneider driver was put on Jet Orange and flew off to his new home which at this current time is no where to be found due the shortage of trucks......
In other news it's been announced that Schneider's trial program of flying drivers out of florida has been cancelled due to new H.O.S rule saying that all time spent enroute to the airport must be logged and TSA won't allow the elogs thru security.mickeyrat and kid_cardiac Thank this. -
