not shure if whatkins shepard does teams. conway TL does do teams but you each would have to be with a trainer for 3 weeks first then meet up after.

not sure but I hear good things about roehl (sp)

Thanks blktop-bucanear! Will do more reading on these! Trying to make the best choice on the first go round. Being a newbie, I do know that first carrier can define so much of a driver's future. So thank you. : )

Melton, Trimac, Butler, CRST, Covenant, Schneider & Barr Nun to name a few, all hire teams and FL is in their hiring area. JB Hunt and Knight also hire teams, but call every other carrier in exsistence first. Good luck.

There's nothing wrong with refridgerated. There is always steady freight regardless of the economy. The only thing some don't like is the reefer noise, but you get use to that. Just because you are pulling a reefer doesn't mean you won't haul dry freight, because you will. It's the other way around where a dry van you are stuck with dry freight. A reefer opens up more opportunities. Especially in Florida with the produce and fruit juice.
Werner can be your worst choice.

I'll teach you how to truck if you teach me how to layer on Photoshop. :)

LOL! how did you know I was a graphic designer?! I could teach you how to layer in Photoshop. That's one of my favorite programs.
As for reefers, thanks for the info. That was my concern (the noise) I figure if I can sleep through my grandson's SpongeBob Squarepants theme 10,000 times, I can probably sleep through the humm of a reefer. : )

We are loving it! A few kinks to work out, but like anything in life, persevere. Ron and I absolutely love this and I can see us doing this for the next 10 years easy! And seeing the beauty of this county? I can not even put into words. : )

UPDATE...Ron and I have been running as a team on our own now for 90 days. We are enjoying it very much! Of course, with anything new, there is the learning curve and a few frustrations, but that just comes with the job. We checked back with our school to see how the other CDL grads were doing and it appears that only 3 of us have lasted to date. So crazy, the one I thought would be most likely to falter in a short time is the one that has embraced trucking the most! Just goes to show, you never know.
