I would say to bring a couple pairs of glove, and don't bring the fingerless type !!!!! LOL but you do want to have more than one pair because once a pair gets wet they stink and there hard to get back on and this time of year they're cold too. I always try and have 3 or more pair in the truck. Sleeping bag for emergency use.

In the same boat as you, pretty much have to collect stuff over a period of a month or so. I have been on this trainee pay also and it is hard to go out and buy all of this stuff at once. Got my truck today but had some problems and had to put it in shop. Should be ready for tomorrow.

Buy you some of those cheap brown cloth gloves and a pair of leather gloves. put the cloth ones on then the leather ones over them. once they're both on pull them off together. You'll have some affordable insulated gloves. And they work. I tried it in North Dakota at -20 and my hands were well protected from the cold.
