I have thought of just going there and see what happens but the expense slows my thinking down What you and your family are doing would scare the h--- out me.I wish you all the luck in the world.I have the experience but not recent other than a short stint with swift in June I retired in july 08 but now starting to get really bored.I am not allowed to work here so i need to go to states to do so.Wish i had a crystal ball showing me the way lol.I am single with no debts following me but will have expense of renting car, stay in motel and of course airfare.Does anyone have any names for companys hiring there that you can apply on internet.Area doesn't matter i'm from Florida so having hometime means nothing to me.Just a day off once in awhile. Thanks

I finally have my Class A with tankers and doubles and I'm heading to Texas this weekend. I'm bringing my wife and 5 year old and we're willing to settle wherever the work is. I understand there tends to be lots of activity around Odessa, so I'm thinking that's where we'll start. If any of you have any info on companies willing to hire newbies, I'd really appreciate the info. I have a clean mvr, no criminal history, and solid work history.

My thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

Take a look at some of the driving jobs (crude) at Sunoco Logistics for new grads. Some in west TX and also down around the coast.

For all y'all with your wives and kids it is important to know that you raise your family in Midland and raise hell in Odessa.

Has anybody heard of Vann Energy services out of south Texas. I think their yard is in Nixon.

I'm having a devil of a time finding a hotel in Odessa/Midland. Is there something going on next week, or are all the hotels being taken up by oil workers?

Try Value Place, they have good weekly rates.

I tried them, but they're booked just like all the others. The closest place I can find a room for this Sunday is in Lubbock.
