1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I could'nt find anything on their website concerning jobs there, but I know they're hiring drivers in Houston for their overseas operations. I read an article in a much respected german newsmagazine last winter, & the drivers they interviewed claimed they got $1800 a week, one round-trip run a day. Dangerous as all hell...I'm getting ready to go to training at CR
England (despite all the negative publicity: I'm paying for the school myself, & I'm not leasing) & if it does'nt work out for me, I'm heading for the sandbox. Anybody worked there or know how to get on with Haliburton there?

From what I've seen, go to their website. Halliburton.jobs

The FACT is from what I have seen up here in WY, that even though you are a trucker, you bust your BASS working for them. A "driver", as I was told, drives as part of his job....not the entire job. I too was looking for a driving position with them and found out that it wouldnt be the main part of my job. That and the fact that up here, various positions require a CDL, but they aren't necessarily driving positions.

Here is the info from a handout I got this week from teh local workforce center. Going to be looking at a sheet, so there will be typos, lol.

    Go to Halliburton.jobs
Make sure the region highlighted is North America and the country selected is the US.
    Click the Launch Button.
On the upper left hand side there isa link that says tutorial. You need to watch the tutorial because it explains the applicatoin process (from what it sounds like, if you mess up or skip a step, your app won't go through).
After you watch the tutorial , you can either minimize or close out the box to return to the original page. If you minimize you will be able to watch any section fo the tutorial again as you go through the application process.

Once you are back on teh original page, you are going to click the register button. After you have filled out the registration or if you are returning to the site, click on the Login button.

You need to create a candidate profile in order to apply for jobs. After youhave logged in clcick on the caddidate profile link. You need to follow the candidate profile all the way through.

    There ya go.

it's kbr dot com - for kellogg, brown, and root (haliburton). You can apply on-line but they are VERY slow to respond and likely the job you applied for will expire (they will email you) and you have to go back on-line and resubmit.

I am working in Iraq now, not with KBR but they are all over. Check the dangerzonejobs website and the civiliancontractorjobs website. You can find jobs for Iraq on those plus KBR's website. One thing to remember, you must be able to obtain a clearance. It could be a public trust or secret, depending on the job. Financial troubles and domestic violence are the two biggest disqualifiers. It is always better, if you know someone and they can push your resume through.
It normally takes 3-6 months to get you approved and all of your paperwork completed. If you are even thinking about it go ahead and get a passport. They do have 1000s of high paying jobs over here. They also have many other jobs in every field. Some of the people with CDL's do other duties some do not. When you do your resume online look at the job description and if your experience matches it make your resume match the online description word for word. That is how the computer will sort your resume. Also KBR/Haliburton holds job fairs in Houston every so often. But they are not the only company over here. I will see what I can find about driving and get the info to you. I am not advertising for any of these guys and my line of work is totaly diffrent from truck driving. I will see what I can find out for you.
Hopefully by this time next year I will be out of here and driving my own truck.

I checked several websites and KBR definately has alot of driver openings, the problem you might run into is they all require 3-5 years experience. I guess they don't want you trying to learn to drive while your getting shot at. I know that alot of the convoys travel at night and often without lights, nutt to butt and at a fast rate of speed. Not all are like this but many are. They then have either US military or security contractors for convoy security, front, rear and dispearsed throughout. Who the security is depends on who your driving for. State Dept and DOD contracts will normally have Military and contractors, Private companies will normally have security contractors only.
Carefull who you work for, you don't want to run convoys in thin skinned vehicles in the red zone. Ask lots of questions, some companies don't care about your welfare or safety. Make sure you have a will and plenty of life insurance and that everything in the States is squared away. Your loved ones need to know what to do incase of injury or death. Not trying to scare you but it is reality.

I've seen the ads in Houston Craig's List a few weeks ago, however I don't see them now. Not sure if all the positions for Iraq has been filled.... Before you decide on going to iraq you might check these videos out...

Preston Wheeler, a truck driver for KBR a subsidiary of Halliburton shot this amazing video of his truck convoy being ambushed in Iraq. The attack occurred after the U.S. military made a wrong turn down a dead-end street. Mr. Wheeler is lucky to be alive. Three KBR truck drivers were killed after U.S. troops apparently abandoned the truck drivers.

You are being paid a lot, but in my opinion it's just not worth it.

I have no idea why there escorts left these defense less truckers on their own but I think they were not doing their job as escorts doing so. The least they could've done is assist the trapped truckers in a good vehicle before they left. Such a shame...

That story is so convuluted, it's hard to tell what exactly happened. DoD says one thing, the drivers say another, and the convoy says they had orders. Typical upper echelon BS, and blame game, and the drivers are the victims.
    But the facts remain,

1 Drivers were led down the wrong route.
2 Abandoned after the brown stuff hit the fan.
3 An absolute miracle anyone got out of that alive.

I'd rather go Ice Road Trucking for that kind of money. Atleast I am not being shot at by an ungrateful country.
