Will Ca. allow coil racks now, or do you still need to build the wood cradle for them and nail it to the deck?
Been alot of years since I've hauled coils from Ca.
But one time I put them in coil racks and was real happy how they looked. Then a Ca. steel hauler tells me at that time it was not legal and I had to build a wood rack and nail it to the trl. deck.
I thought he was b.s. me, but he helped me build the rack and I reset the coils.

See any Prime trucks in there? Im heading to Cali this week unfortunatly
-
None....I've never seen a Prime truck there.
That's probably why we still get a good rate out of there....I've never seen TMC, Melton, Swift or any of the other rate cutting bottom feeders in there either.SHC, American-Trucker, Logan76 and 2 others Thank this. -
I gotta work too.
-
That is pretty surprising. In my experience US Steel is great at finding the most "cost effective" carrier to move their steel.
SHC Thanks this. -
It isn't your fault that your carrier and a lot of other carriers see fit to go in and undercut rates to the point that no one in their right mind would stoop to hauling the freight.
I realize that you gotta work to.....But I don't like what your carrier does to the rates whenever they try to weasel into a good account.FREEBRD, kubotaorange76 and 2bit Thank this. -
Sad thing is....There are idiots out there that take them at those cheap rates. -
I get paid by the mile so... I just want the 2500+ miles this load gives me.
-
company driver or share cropper?
What is your break even point per mile?
What is your profit margin?
Now I see why black kw gets riled up.
Oh, I don't care I getting 2500 miles this week. Big check... -
Im a company driver, get paid by the mile. I have to work too. Not everyone can be an o/o. I have to learn how to run a truck before I can advance. Im not supertrucker.
SHC, The Challenger and Lsv Thank this.
