I don't feel sry for any driver collecting unemployment. Trucking jobs are a dime a dozen and if they really WANTED to work there is Always driver jobs. It may not be the job you want, but at least you are off the couch. I don't see how anyone sits on their ##### for a year anyway. Other industries, yes I get it, but trucking is always hiring..Most of America that WANTS to work is working. Bet your ##### if I was in another industry I would take any job to get my butt of the couch and be a provider. (Another term for this is being a MAN)

 

Yup, OTR trucking companies are always hiring drivers with squeaky clean credentials. And that's why they are always hiring because they dump less than desirable wheel holding units as a hot potato. A real manly man didn't taste real trucking yet.

BTW, it doesn't really matter whether or not you collect unemployment. If you saved every dime to take one year leave from selling your arse, you'll be blacklisted as a non-compliant, undesirable wage unit and you'll have trouble finding a job, any job. Employers want compliant working mules, genetically engineered to work until disposed. Taking 1 year "vacation" is a red flag.
