Wow, I guess I failed that test. That would irritate the heck out of me. I don't like crowds of people anyway. Give me my space and wide open country....

First off you have to be 21 to be OTR... But ive been in this business 40 yrs and have made excellent money. but OTR is not for everyone. Long hours..Shippers and Recievers with Attitudes..Lonely nite...over priced items...Dot scales just waiting like a duck blind..and 4 wheelers who have no clue about the stopping distance of an 80,000 lb rig...city traffic and 2 lane roads with no place to park when your tired...Yeah you can make money but your have to make sure its the life style you want... the failure rate for trucking otr is high...driver turn over is high...companies and recruiters are like cars salesman..tell you what you want to hear but never deliver but expect you to do your job... You can make it in trucking as long as you are aware of what goes on and you stick to your guns..Good Luck

Do you like listening to other people have a crap? Do you like using your tongue to find the wet hole in the dark and then realize that you really dont like cold coffee? Are you willing to put your driving record and insurance rate for the next 5 years on the line for minimal pay? Do you like using someone elses shower? Can your hobbies be taken with you or will you give them up?

I am about to complete my time with my trainer and I love trucking. I did a lot of research and I do my job and like a small challenge so this is perfect for me. When there is downtime I either sleep, talk to my friends, or go online (things I would do if I was at my house). I love it.
