    RIP Joe, take football away from the man and he looses his will to live. Cancer or no cancer football was his life.

    Guy had a great life but his last 3 months was the worse ever I bet and that's very sad.RIP Joe you will be miss.

    ...and he died of a broken heart. Penn State football WAS his life. The second he as let go, it was over for him.

    Still can't take away what he accomplished. Two national championships, the most wins in the history of Divison I football, and the lasting respect of those who played for him. He WAS Penn State.

    Growing up in PA, I was a huge Penn State fan. Joe will be missed, but always remembered.

    I agree 100%,Penn State was his life and only 3 months after he was fired,he die.Very sad for a such a great guy.
