300-400 watt inverter would be my #1. Plugging it into the cigar lighter is only good for about 150 watts, but it is plenty of juice to power my cell phone charger (I don't use the 12V car chargers), a small fan, or whatever else I need to power in the truck.
#2 would probably be my GPS. I don't use it as much for navigation as I do for a speedometer (the one in the truck reads 5mph slower than the GPS indicates) as well as showing me side streets, and the POI's make it REAL easy when I need to find a motel...all of the #'s and addresses are in there for me to call around, and when I find one that has truck parking and allows dogs, I hit the "go" button and it takes me right to it.
Don't really use anything else that plugs into the cigar lighter. My CB's, scanner, and most anything else I use on a regular basis are all hard-wired. -
Some of the best 12v items I've used over the years are coolers, "lunchbox stove", the heated mattress pad, the smaller cig. plug inverters,...I'm at a loss for the full 5. The old grey coleman cooler was the best I've ever had. For some reason it would get colder than any of the others. The 12v mattress pad heater will allow you to cut your truck off in the coldest weather and stay toasty. (remember to leave a window down about 1/4" so the inside of the truck isn't dripping with condensation the following morning. I was never able to set the thing on anything higher than 3 even in below freezing temps. Truck would crank in the morning without a problem...The black lunchbox stove...can't tell you how many great meals I've cooked over the years in those. The smaller inverters I've used to power a small tv and game system for my son when he would go with me.. I've read through some of the over post so I won't cover what has already been addressed...

I would say a 300-400 watt inverter. I have a road pro 300 watt one that has been going strong for 4 years with daily use. Its the only road pro product I have been happy with. Right now its powering my lap top and a 19 inch Vizio flat screen TV. I have been through 2 other inverters with the TV alone. This one keeps ticking. It is also made of metal where the other ones were in plastic cases.

The fan in the Coleman is easy to replace. Just mentioning for people like me who don't have space for a fridge.
