I have been getting really excited about going with swift in March. Does this guy know what he is talking about? Towards the end of the video he says if you snore don't tell them because they will send you home.
Well i have sleep apnea and have to sleep with a CPAP and it's 100% controlled. This kinda scares me about going with them.
Any ideas or suggestions please?

OP if you watched more than 3 seconds of this video, and you give any credence to this mental midget you get what you deserve. Hat on backwards, cursing in a info video, fidgets around like he needs another hit of something. LOL give me a break.
To answer your question. DONT TELL THEM ANYTHING. They arent your mother, they dont love you, they dont care if it hurts when you go poopy. For God sakes dont tell them you have a CPAP machine lol.
Listen.
They ask because they are looking for a reason to discount you, to get rid of you. Tell them your are 100% in good health. There is nothing wrong. If the doc says "does it hurt when I do this" your answer is "hell no i like it"
This is so simple to understand its pathetic. Think of it this way. If you go to the car dealer and as your test driving a car the engine falls out. Do you buy the car? HELL NO!!! You walk away. Now think of yourself as the car, your trying to sell yourself when you walk into SWIFT. Why on earth would ANY trucking company want a broken employee. You cost them money right off the bat.
Make yourself an asset, not a liability.FluffyGuy Thanks this. -
Swift has lots of drivers, new and old, that have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. Be honest. let them know. If it comes out later that you lied or with held any info you will be shown the door, quickly. Check out the swift threads under the DAC section on this board.

I've had a feeling for a long time that there are Swift Driver Trainers that do not know their ### from a hole in the ground. It's a shame that good money goes out and you get this type of idiot. "Don't tell them you snore, I don't know why but just don't". What a moron. For you Swift Drivers that have gotten this type of trainer please keep that video and show it to a good trainer so he or she can help.
I guess I was lucky with my dispatch. The company made the new dispatchers ride along so they would know. The company also still promoted from within. But before that I have run into situations that took some very creative thinking and a lot of "O GOD" to get through. Especially with overloads. With a permit you can get jacked up real fast if you deviate from the directions. You crash a bridge or do any damage you know the first words out of their mouth is "why are you off your directed route"? So use you head and think before you move.Everett Thanks this. -
I told them I had a C-PAP and they wouldn't certify me because I didn't have a "DOT approved" one. Plus they wanted me to change my meds for blood pressure because it was high. Still legal, but too high for their standards. I packed my stuff, rented a car and headed home to El Paso.
Its just as well, I got a bad vibe from the moment I got to Phoenix. The guy in the orientation was a ####, made a big deal because I didn't bring my cdl school grades. The recruiter told me I didn't need them. Then they hustled about 90% of the class to the clinic because they didn't have physicals from an "approved" clinic and the rest is history.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 24, 2012
