True, but where are the tons and tons of jobs for those of us who don't? I see the O/O ads all the time, but not too many for the company driver. Maybe I am looking in the wrong spot.![]()

My buddy wiseguy was at Roehl with me. He went to the school a week behind me. He left a month before I did to drive local out in Minnesota. He ran with central freight for a while and said they kept him busy. Now he is driving for another company and loves it. Says money is real nice and its just about a 9-5 kind of gig.
That area has a ton, well compared to my city, of home daily jobs. LTL companies seem to be plentiful. -
My buddy in MN bought his own truck last year and made a ton of money pulling side dump trailers for road construction jobs. He had to go to the Dakotas when the state shut down but was still home on the weekends. He bought a beautiful used KW W900 and got it pretty cheap because they are not very aerodynamic. He isn't driving that far so he doesn't burn a lot of money on fuel. His maintenance costs from playing in the dirt are higher though.

I am in the military reserve so my fees for school have been waived. I am told that i don't have to be obligated to the 120k miles since there is no cost. does anyone think that will help or hinder me in any way as to how I am treated as far as miles and runs? Just curious on thoughts.

not at all ICE its not about them making money for you, its about the truck making them money, they wont have you sit just cause you didnt pay for school (the government paid it for you) its about the truck moving and making money.

Yeah, it's an illusion some people fall for, and regurgitate when they need something to complain about. They really don't put that much thought into it.
