They're really cracking down on that in some areas.
I've been lucky myself.
A couple of years ago a big slab of ice broke off a big truck
on our local turnpike and went thru the windsheild of a
woman driving behind him.
It knocked her out cold and she went off the road at 65 mph
into trees killing her almost instantly.
Since then they take a hard line on ice & snow on the trailer.
Some truck stops and terminals have a drive-thru cleaner bar
that's at about 13' 8" to clean the top o the trailer.
If you can find one use it...it might save you a ticket.

Weather they use a bar or a broom or whatever, will they take off ice? That is the dangerous thing.

What i was told is nothing can fall or splll from cmv. To me that means snow/ice falling or blowing off. I heard of a guy getting ticket in new jersey last year for ice blowing off whn he was riving. i will find a way to get it off to save the money from a ticket.

I beleive in Calif, law says nothing but organic items can fall off to protect the produce drivers, snow and ice falls under organic here, funny there really one fair law on Calif,s books.

So on Monday when I was shoveling 6" of snow off the 12x40 concrete wall panel on my flat bed that was higher then 6' I was supposed to have a harness???? At least I did clean the snow off.
Actually the unsafe part was chaining down the decked trailers, and climbing up on the bottom one to run the chain through the stake pockets. Never did like chaining decked trailers. -

Ok so its a big problem in the East so they need to have those roof cleaning devices everywhere then. The slabs of ice combined with blowing snow or high winds and me up there breaking then up with a hammer and pushing them off while on my hands and knees or my feet? I dont think so. Give me the ticket and let the company pay for it.
double_r Thanks this. -
anyone even know how much the ticket can run?
