What's your fuel mileage driving volvo 780 with volvo or cummins engine?

What logic do you base that on? I'd think if "they" can get an 80,000lb truck to get 7 mi/gal, then "they" could get a 3,000lb car to get 150 mi/gal.

2000 Volvo VNL-660 w/ D-12C, fuller .78 o/d 10 spd, 53' Dry Van 18 wheels RR of truck is 108. Running north east corner of country = lots of hills. NYC = lots of low range

Before valve adjustment 6.3 ( truck runs A LOT better after they were adjusted min 5 mph faster up my hard pulls 43-45mph @ 75,000 was 36ish mph)

Usually drive at 1250 rpm = 62mph but there are times I am up to 1575 @ 70mph when its needed. Go down hills as fast as conditions will allow Hey down hill is free and helps get up the next one.

Sounds like a "Dart Transit" "shenanigans special" calculator. You divide what you pay for a gallon of fuel, say $3.83 a gallon by your miles per gallon, say 7 mpg to come up with a cost per mile which equals $0.547 a mile. Now if Dart is paying $0.40 cpm fuel surcharge on top of their low $0.95 cpm rate (or whatever it is) your fuel is only costing you $0.147 cents a mile and if you are getting 7 mpg that means you are only paying $1.02 a gallon for fuel. See how it works? Never mind that the rate still sucks.

 

wow...that means you can run 1000 miles for $135..let me buy that truck!

 

What about the Volvo's with the cummings and an automatic? MPG

 

im lucky if i get 5 on a good day..and thats without my foot clipping my toenails on the fan...

 

This is what I've been getting the last 10 days as well. Waiting for my truck to return tomorrow to go over it. 04' 630' with ISX 475 and ZF-M 12 speed.

60mph or 74mph, still 5mpg. Sounds like truck is outsmarting/protecting itself vs a lead foot.
