I beg to differ. She said (and this was about 2 or so months ago) that she gets so much a day to stay in a hotel. Mind you, they are in the tiny Volvo sleeper trucks and the company pays so much a night towards a hotel.
She is an OTR driver for them, not your local delivery stuff but truly over the road. -
I know that, she runs out of the Danville, IL DC and is OTR 5 days a week in the midwest. I don't know if they do this everywhere, but I met her at Sygma in Pryor, OK and talked for a good hour about her job, because I didn't know this either. She said she was at this job for 3 years and loved it because of the perks such as the nightly hotel.

Ya, Sygma drivers get hotels nightly unless they are a team truck, then they are out and back. Looked into them but no locations close to me.
I use to get a hotel when I ran out of town, of course I was in a daycab. Limit was &100 without approval. If I ran a sleeper route, well I'm sure you can guess were I was sleeping and it was not at a hotel. -
The Least Of My Worries.... -
Jeezus! If you skip the tractor and just pull my trailer around by hand I'll be glad to get you a hotel every night!

Driveaway service companies, but thats a whole nother pain in the ###, 90% of those type of companies are bottom feeders and its not fun. Just go with a company running frieghtliner casscadia's im 6 foot 5, 235 and i can play baseball in my truck, you will be fine dude double up on the matress,
you got nothing to worry about go to any american truckstop and you will see people that make you look skinny getting into old classic petes and kennys with no room at allhculiver Thanks this. -
It should probably be the most of your worries. Now Im not one to bash on you most of my family are larger. Im surprised that you havent had a heart attack high BP and diabeties.
-
Yeah there are some but some hotels pain in the butt to park anyway...Id rather just turn around & fall into the bunk & just use fuel stop showers..
-
LOL That's funny.
Ok seriously a few company's do.
It's great, you get to run all over hells half acre, and when it's time to shut down good luck finding a motel with truck parking. When you finally find a place to park you get to haul all your crap half a mile from where you parked, (an empty day cab is a fat target for crack heads). After a great night of listening to the people in the next room having an affair, you get to hike another half mile to your truck and go sit in a day cab for 4 hours while your unloading. FUN STUFF.
Been there done that, I"ll take a sleeper.Spincycled Thanks this.
