I'm going to be starting Roehl's orientation probably in a couple weeks. Im just wondering what type of trucks get assigned to newbies. What make and year about? Manual, Automatic? Manual I assume which I would prefer. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can get an old 2005, or a new 2012. It is random.

    They have Volvo's, Freightliner's, International's, and Kenworth's.

Take whatever they give you and be happy you got a job, in a year or two you will find yourself getting the newer rigs.

none of the new trucks have tri-pac, either battery powered hvac with auto start on some pro-stars, or you idle within a certain percentage that is pre-set and changes every month, all have bunk heaters.

only the 06-07 freightliners and 9400 internationals that are still around have tri-pacs and inverters. what you get depends on whats availible at the terminal.

I've had two Internationals with 9 speeds and now I have a Freightliner with a 13 speed.

Saw a brand new driver get a KW T660 at Ellenwood a couple of weeks ago. When you consider that they take about 4 more feet to make a turn, how long before he has an accident?

When I drove for roehl, it seemd like the brand new trucks were always in the shops. I had a 06 columbia that never broke on me besides a few light shorts. Its all in the luck of the truck.
