Just you are technically dispose to check the seal # to match and security should have caught it when you were leaving the yard just a bad day bottom line

You totally screwed up when YOU sealed the trailer without opening the doors to check the load. The fact that you have refused to take responsibility for it and continue to blame the company for holding you responsible is what amazes me.

    flood Thanks this.

Lets see, at no point had anyone ever told me that if the trailer doors were not sealed that I should open it to look at the load.

Customer - "Put the seal on the door and go"
BOL - Trailer Loaded by XXXXX
HOS - I had 10 hrs left on my clock to make the 506 mile run
    First load from first Customer.

So you know what Craig, KMA !!!! Not all of us are "Super Truckers" like you

Yes, I'll explain. The customer did not tell you to not check the load.

But I've been accused before of not having all the facts, so let's see if I have 'em.

You arrived at a shipper for a drop and hook. You dropped your mt and hooked to the one they said was loaded. You either had the paperwork before you dropped your empty or after, it doesn't matter. The shipper handed you the bills and a seal. You checked to make sure the seal matched and the trailer # was correct on the bills. You then applied the seal without looking inside the trailer. You then pulled the empty trailer approx 500 miles, never realizing it was empty.

Is that correct? If so, you screwed up twice. Once for not checking the trailer and once for not realizing it was empty when you pulled it. But I'll give you a benefit of a doubt on the second one since I don't know how much the load was supposed to weigh. I've pulled loads weighing 900 lbs that seemed empty. Right now I have a load that is 12000. It's light but I can still tell something's in there, not just because I looked and counted the pallets...LOL

What gets me is you don't seemed to have learned a lesson from this. Always look in a trailer if it isn't sealed. When you are a newb you have to leave your pride at home and learn from your mistakes.

Lol, I make mistakes all the time. The difference is I learn from my mistakes and take responsibility for them.
