i see what you are saying. i have done that in the past but if you zoom out too far, road names and highway numbers dissapear and it just becomes a squigly green line on a map. at least, that has been my experience. maybe my navigo is broken, but if what i read earlier is correct, big updates to the navigo is in the works, which is acknowledgement on their part that the system is flawed.

if things stay the same, someone is going to get routed onto a one lane residential with no turn around space in pitch black darkness

 

Do trainer drivers make more? if so how much?

 

You guys use the Gps? Psshhhh...I've got a trainer to tell me where to turn! He actually doesn't let me use it, would rather that I use some brain power to figure out the routes and check with atlas

I know, I know, its so tough getting assigned to a West Texas regional route. Please have pity on me fellas My training is going well, I'm still nervous in heavy traffic around Dallas...and good lord trying to keep up with check your mirrors, what did that sign say, lane control, mirrors, what is the speed limit, mirrors, why is this truck so slow, lane control...oh god traffic is stopping! Why can't I find that bleeping gear?

I dont think so Jack, you will get plenty of practice tests in the Academy, 3 I think, with the first one starting when you hit the hotel! Dont worry, a couple of 4 hour sleep nights studying with your roommates and you will be all set for the DPS testing on Wed!

Ok.....set to start 3/12...........do they send you a confirmation....a need list and must haves?

 

I used http://www.cristcdl.com/otc/ for practice tests. The questions there are very close if not exactly what's used at the academy and DPS. If you want a head start download the Texas CDL manual and start reading it.
