I honestly don't know as I pull a step. I averaged $2.12 per odometer mile last year and deadhead a lot. It also depends on how much work I have to do. Here at LS, I have to find my own loads, pull my own permits, hire my own escorts, etc. so I expect to make more than someone that has it lined up for them. I have friends at Daily and Keen, and they are happy with the money. There are a couple of Landstar guys here that run RGN's that might be able to tell you what the average rate is. The rates definitely get much, much higher as you add more axles.

Quick question for now....do you get the $2.12 for a loaded mile or is that for everything loaded or not?
-
No I took my end of year revenue and divided by the miles on my odometer. No fancy bookkeeping math to make it look like I made more than I did. For example, not my real numbers, if I made $212,000 and ran 100,000 miles per the odometer, I made $2.12 per mile.
As far as the way it works I've run for $1.80 per mile to $9 per mile, to the truck. My deadhead kills my average, as it's tough to average $2.12 per mile when you bounce 1,100 miles a few times.Logtruck08 Thanks this. -
I see. Appreciate your time. Checking around on the net is one thing but it's nice to be able to hear directly from you.
